University Physics 1 is a course that covers the basic concepts in Mechanics, Heat, and Thermodynamics. This is the first Physics course taken by all second year students in the different fields of engineering. This serves as preparation for University Physics 2 and a foundation for engineering major subjects.
At the end of this course, the students are expected to:

1. increase their knowledge in the different concepts and principles in Mechanics, Heat and Thermodynamics and be able to apply this knowledge in everyday living.
2. improve their ability in solving some problems and exercises found at the end of each chapter of the official textbook.
